The two biggest questions on the minds of people that are over 50 years old are can we retire? And, if we can retire, how much money can we draw from our accounts, so we don’t run out of money before we die?
Those are the two questions. Bankers and brokers use the discredited 4% rule to answer those questions. We don’t. We use distribution planning.
Distribution planning is what, in our opinion, every person who is over 50 must change to in order to have a successful retirement. The distribution plan shows all of your sources of funds such as Social Security, pension, rental real estate, and portfolio income. We plan to have you live to age 100, and we add a cost of living adjustment each year, so you have more money each year to spend to fight inflation.
That’s it. It’s just math.
Can you retire? We run the numbers to see if you can.
How much money can we draw from our accounts, so we don’t run out of money before we die? We run the numbers to help find out.
Distribution planning is just math. If your retirement assets total $700,000 or $7 million, you still cannot know how much you can draw unless you run the numbers.
